🔔 Important Prescription Request Information

📞 We Do Not Accept Prescription Requests Over the Telephone

To keep our service safe and efficient, prescription requests cannot be made by phone. Please read below for the correct ways to order your medication.

🕑 Processing Time

• Please allow 2 full working days for prescriptions to be processed and signed.

• Request your medication a few days before you run out to avoid delays.

💊 Pharmacy Collection & Electronic Prescriptions

• Some local pharmacies can collect your prescription from the surgery — ask Reception to arrange this.

• We also offer Electronic Prescription Service (EPS): prescriptions are sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice.
  Speak to your pharmacist or our Reception Team to set this up.

🔄 New Prescription Ordering Policy (Bradford-wide Change)

Due to changes across Bradford:

• GPs can no longer accept repeat prescription requests directly from pharmacies, unless:

  • You receive medication in a dosette box, or

  • There are exceptional circumstances

If you already order your own medication, this change does not affect you.

✅ How to Request Your Repeat Prescription

You can request your repeat prescriptions in the following ways:

1. ✅ Tick the items on your repeat prescription list and:

   • Hand it in at the surgery, or

   • Post it to us

2. ✅ Online – Register to request your repeat prescriptions using our online service
   (Ask at Reception for details) 

❗ Please Note:

• ❌ We do not accept prescription requests over the phone

• ❌ We cannot action changes or special instructions through the online request service

• 🗣️ If your repeat medication needs to be changed or amended, please contact the surgery and speak to a member of staff

Prescription Charges and Exemptions

There are a range of exemptions and remission schemes in place to support people who may have difficulty paying NHS charges. These include help with:

• NHS prescriptions

• Dental charges

• Optical costs

• Hospital travel expenses

Current Prescription Charges

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate fee, set by the government, for those who are not exempt from payment.

Ways to Save – Prescription Prepayment Certificates (PPCs)

If you need regular or multiple prescriptions, a Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) can help you save money.

• A PPC covers all your NHS prescriptions for a set price over 3 or 12 months

• It can be much cheaper than paying for each prescription individually

⏳ Prescription Request Processing Time

Please allow 48 hours (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) for your request to be processed.

SystmOnline is a secure online service that allows you to:

You can also use SystmOnline on your mobile or tablet via the free app, available on:

• Apple App Store (iPhones & iPads)

Just search “SystmOnline” or use the logos on the SystmOnline login page.

🛑 Please note: SystmOnline can only be used within the UK. It does not work from abroad.

🔐 How to Register for SystmOnline

To use SystmOnline, you must register in person at your GP practice. This is to verify your identity.

What to do:

1. 📞 Call the surgery first to check what ID you need (e.g., driving licence or passport)

1. 📝 Once verified, you’ll receive a username and password

1. 📧 If you’ve provided a verified email address, you’ll also receive a confirmation email.

⏳ Please wait one hour after registering before logging in for the first time.

🔑 Logging In

1. Go to the SystmOnline website (your GP practice can give you the link).

1. Enter your username and password.

1. If you have access to someone else’s account (e.g. a relative), you’ll see the option to “Login As This Person.”

🔄 Changing or Resetting Your Password

When logging in for the first time:

You’ll be prompted to change your password. It must be:

• At least 8 characters

• Include 1 number

• Include 1 special character (e.g. ! or ?)

To change your password later:

• Click Change Password from the home page

• Follow the steps to enter your old and new password

Forgot your password?

If you have a verified email:

1. Click "I’ve forgotten my password" on the login page

1. Enter your username and email address

1. You’ll receive an email with a temporary password

No email on file? You’ll need to visit the surgery to reset your password in person.

🚪 Logging Out

To log out safely:

• Click Logout on the main menu

• Close your internet browser
  🔒 You’ll be logged out automatically after a period of inactivity
